Celebrating the Pride, Heritage and Literary Excellence of the Marathi Language
Introduction
Chembur Karnataka College of Law celebrated Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din on 27 February 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the renowned Marathi poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar (Kusumagraj), whose remarkable contribution to Marathi literature continues to inspire generations.
The celebration aimed to recognize the richness, history, and cultural significance of the Marathi language while encouraging students to appreciate their linguistic heritage. Marathi, being one of India's most vibrant regional languages, reflects a rich tradition of literature, poetry, theatre, and social reform.
As part of the celebration, the college organized a special movie screening that highlighted Marathi culture, values, and literary excellence. The programme created an engaging platform for students to understand the importance of preserving regional languages while developing greater respect for India's diverse cultural traditions.
